Welcome to ETC online, which is developed inline with our commitment to the uplifting of both individuals and organizations through quality skills and development training. The ETC is an established Training Centre as well as a Private FET College, aimed at providing and improving skills in a variety of disciplines.
The ETC is committed to uplifting the community and ensuring that the economy has an able and capable workforce; this is done by providing access to scarce skills development and providing fully equipped facilities and equipment to satisfy the needs and aspirations of individuals and organisations alike. ETC aims to advise learners in the right direction by providing on-site management of learnerships and apprenticeships, securing host employers, providing trainability assessment, selection and placement services.

In addition, we have a top-class Conference Centre, providing functional and professional conference facilities which serve a variety of situations.

THE COURSES WE OFFER
MECHANICAL APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING
If you have a keen interest in working with levers, gears, pulleys, valves, hydraulics, or metalwork, our Mechanical Department offers the ideal training for you. We provide a wide range of comprehensive courses designed to develop or enhance your technical skills.
Our mechanical training programs begin with foundational hand skills and gradually advance into more specialized fields. The primary areas of training include:
Occupational Certificate:
OC – Boilermaker
OC – Welder
OC – Fitter & Turner
OC – Metal Machinist
OC – Mechanical Fitter
OC – Millwright
OC – Motor Mechanical
Accredited Trade Test Centre for the Boilermaker and Welder trades.
We also offer flexible trade programs, a variety of general and custom-made short courses to assist with production demands.
ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING
The Electrical Department is dedicated to empowering learners, apprentices, and the broader community with essential skills and knowledge in the field of Electrical Engineering. Our department facilitates various qualifications, courses, and skills programmes registered with QCTO, merSETA and CHIETA.
We offer the following apprenticeship training:
OC – Electrical
OC – Millwright
We also provide Pre-Trade Test Training to adequately prepare candidates for trade testing and certification.
BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION
The Building and Construction Training Department focuses on skills development within the Civil Engineering sector.
Training ranges from fundamental skills such as bricklaying and mortar mixing to more advanced competencies including door and lock installation, painting and decorating, waterproofing, and foundation layout for all brick and block structures.
We are fully accredited with the Quality Council for Trades & Occupation (QCTO) and the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA), ensuring top-tier training delivery.
DRIVER TRAINING
The Driver Training Department at ETC provides practical, high-quality instruction for operating a wide variety of vehicles, from standard passenger cars to large commercial trucks and heavy-duty construction equipment.
We offer training in the following driving licence codes:
Code B
(Old Code 08 – Light motor vehicles, below 3,500 kg)
Code C1
(Old Code 10 – Vehicles below 16,000 kg)
Code C
(Old Code 11 – Vehicles above 16,000 kg)
Code EC
(Old Code 14 – Heavy vehicle combinations)
Additional programmes offered :
– Operate counter-balance lift truck (F1-4)
– Learners license preparation training
