Driver Training
From passenger vehicles to 18-wheeler trucks, from forklifts to bulldozers, ETC’s Driver Training Department offers expert training in all these and more.
ETC offers general driver training in the following codes:
· Code B (old code 08, ie below 3 500 Kg),
· Code C (old code 11, above 16 000 Kg),
· Code C1 (old code 10, below 16 000 Kg),
· Code EC (old code 14, heavy vehicle combination).
Applicants should preferably be in possession of a valid learner’s license for the code they require. However, ETC does offer learner’s license training, and we boast a pass rate of 98%.
ETC offers Heavy Duty Professional Driving as a one year Learnership (Unit Standard 50285) under the auspices of TETA (Transport, Education Training Authority). This should be considered an essential qualification for all heavy duty full time drivers as South Africa needs to lower the tragic road death toll dramatically.
ETC is proud to offer specific courses in economic and defensive driving - the systematic application of driving techniques which are designed for the early detection of vehicle and environmental problems that may pose a threat to the driver. This can be considered to be somewhere between Advanced Driving and Professional Driving. It is presented in the following codes: B, C, C1, and EC.
We also offer Advanced Driver Training, based on an internationally recognized system called the system of vehicle control to deal with any hazards on the road. This system is aimed at creating a safety cushion around your vehicle when driving in traffic. It helps you to maximize space around your vehicle through basic precautions that will prevent accidents.
Our accredited lifting training includes training for Forklift Operators and Crane Operators. We also offer training in heavy plant equipment operating, including: Front end loader, back actor, bulldozer, excavator, dumper and tow motor.
We also offer on the job training to help you to minimise production down-time.
