CETA Trade Test Centre
All learning routes must end with a trade test before anyone can become a skilled artisan, this is what makes us, ETC, a vital component in the process.
On the 1 July 2008 CETA awarded ETC with accreditation as a certified Trade Test Centre, thus offering the region quality and choice as well as boosting the skills development for the region.
The development was a significant step towards closing the skills gap in the region and we are working with several stakeholders to achieve the goals of our skills development strategy.
The recognition as a Trade Test Centre is part of a broader strategy by CETA to achieve the national skills development strategy targets to ensure sufficient skills for the construction sector, not only in the Eastern Cape but South Africa as a whole.
The following trades are accredited for Trade Testing:
Bricklaying and Plastering
Joinery and Wood Machinist
Carpentry
Painting and Decorating
Plumbing
Bricklaying
With this expansion of our facility, ETC is now more accessible for the prospective artisans in the Eastern Cape.
